Our mission

CompareSpot was built to help Metro Detroit homeowners and small businesses make confident decisions about the local companies they work with. We research, vet, and rank service providers across categories — starting with real estate — so you can quickly compare options without wading through marketing fluff.

How we research

For every category we cover, we identify active providers serving Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties. We analyze their websites, public reviews, fee structures, customer feedback across multiple sources, and operational history. Our team synthesizes that information into structured comparisons with pros, cons, pricing, and customer sentiment.

How we stay independent

Our rankings are based purely on research. We do not accept payment for placement, and providers cannot pay to change their position on any list. If we ever introduce sponsored content, it will be clearly labeled and separated from editorial rankings.
